Album Cover

Hello fellow bloggers!

Today I was introduced into the exciting world of photoshop editing along with my peers. We were guided through a step by step tutorial from our teacher in which he led us to the Media Studies A2 website in which he had to see the list of instructions. These instructions included generating a random photo, band name and album name on a variety of different websites.

The first band name I generated was some random psychiatrist named 'Hossein' something, I forgot his last name, oops. But I sneakingly generated it again and got the name 'Pleasant Valley', which sounded much cooler.

Then I went on to get my picture in which I was pretty impressed with, it was a cool picture of a budgie resting on a ledge along with a bright background allowing the name 'Pleasant Valley' to blend well with it.

Now the most annoying part of this process had to be when I generated a random album name. I was given 'American people than golf has us', this makes no grammatical sense?! You can understand my frustration.

Any who I managed to find a way to incorporate it on my album cover and made it look decent. I had to be creative by changing the colour of each letter to a colour of the American flag, clever, I know. Without no further delay, here is the final end product!

Lip Sync Exercise

Here's my first Lip Sync Exercise!

What went well?

  • During the exercise we quickly grasped the concept that in order to create the emotion behind each lyric, we had to sing out loud which allowed the music video to be successful in demonstrating the sync between the track and the video.
  • Also we were able to learn our lyrics very fast but it did take a few tries before they fully stuck in our memories. We were able to use a vast range of camera angles well and incorporated each shot when appropriate.
  • In addition, we were able to edit the video to a satisfactory level, cutting when appropriate and ensuring the lip sync went well.

What could be improved?

  • We could've included more shots such as close ups and used the dolly in order to capture better footage of the singers
  • Also on one occasion editing was not completely accurate as there were a few moments in which the lips didn't sync with the music and therefore made the video appear amateur and poor.
  • Furthermore, in terms of editing there were periods in which the pacing could have been faster in order to make the music video to be more modern, instead it was slow and some points and fast at others. This meant that it had no constant pace throughout in which the viewer could vibe to.
